This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.
• Develop, maintain, and enhance responsive websites and digital experiences, primarily utilizing WordPress and PHP.
• Create custom WordPress themes, plugins, Gutenberg blocks, and implementations of Advanced Custom Fields.
• Construct modern front-end interfaces using semantic HTML, CSS, JavaScript or TypeScript, along with frameworks such as React, Vue, Next.js, or similar technologies.
• Integrate third-party platforms and services through REST APIs, webhooks, and various data exchanges.
• Convert designs into precise, accessible, responsive, and maintainable interfaces.
• Diagnose complex issues across front-end, back-end, hosting environments, and interconnected services.
• Engage in technical discovery and project scoping by estimating effort, identifying dependencies, and highlighting risks early on.
• Review code, contribute to common standards, and employ Git-based workflows for collaboration and release management.
• Manage multiple client projects while effectively communicating progress, challenges, and trade-offs.
• Collaborate closely with developers, designers, strategists, and project managers; step in as necessary to assist the team in delivering results.
• Regularly and responsibly utilize AI tools to expedite development and enhance the quality of the work.
• Commit to continuous learning as technologies, platforms, and best practices advance.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience.
• Extensive professional experience with PHP, encompassing object-oriented programming and contemporary development practices.
• Deep expertise in WordPress, including custom themes, plugins, Gutenberg, Advanced Custom Fields, and familiarity with the WordPress data model and APIs.
• Strong proficiency in modern JavaScript and front-end development, including at least one up-to-date framework or library like React, Vue, or Next.js.
• Solid understanding of HTML, CSS or Sass, responsive design principles, and cross-browser implementation.
• Experience with SQL and relational databases, particularly MySQL or MariaDB.
• Familiarity with integrating REST APIs, webhooks, and third-party services.
• Comfortable with Git, code reviews, package managers, build tools, and contemporary local development workflows.
• Working knowledge of website performance, security, accessibility, technical SEO, and browser debugging.
• Ability to produce maintainable, well-documented code and make informed technical decisions within real project constraints.
• Exceptional problem-solving, communication, organization, and remote collaboration skills.
