This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop high-quality, robust, and scalable software solutions that assist Amplify in creating and maintaining a top-tier learning platform.
• Write code for both front-end and back-end components, including automated testing and associated tools.
• Review code from fellow engineers, utilizing your sharp eye for practical and elegant solutions to complex challenges.
• Collaborate with our DevOps team to design, administer, and oversee our deployment processes and infrastructure.
• Ensure our software effectively meets the needs of all students and operates reliably in real classroom environments. Engage in proactive testing and monitoring of our systems to guarantee a positive experience for our users.
• Engage in a collaborative learning environment within Amplify Engineering: assess code from colleagues and participate in learning sessions to promote best practices and a strong engineering culture.
• Provide tools that enable teachers and students to accurately evaluate a child's reading skills.
• Generate reports on student assessments, offering tools and recommendations to enhance outcomes.
• Enhance APIs to ensure that tools for teachers and administrators achieve the highest levels of speed and reliability.
• BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent degree or training.
• Familiarity with contemporary frontend and backend web technologies.
• Proficient in sound software design and modern software engineering methodologies.
• 2 – 6 years of professional software development experience with Python and JavaScript.
• Experience with modern database systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate complex systems and extensive codebases.
• Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and engage in self-directed learning.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly, both verbally and in writing.
