This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop and sustain native Android functionalities utilizing Kotlin and Compose
• Develop and sustain native iOS functionalities utilizing Swift and UIKit
• Create and manage whitelabel applications along with our internal automated build systems
• Collaborate with platform APIs for push notifications, offline storage, background synchronization, and deep linking
• Troubleshoot production problems across various device types, operating system versions, and network conditions
• Oversee the CI/CD build pipelines for Android and iOS and manage the app store submission process
• Work in conjunction with the PHP REST API that serves both mobile platforms
• Team up with backend engineers regarding API contract modifications, versioning, and backward compatibility
• Implement API endpoints for mobile-related feature development
• Engage in an on-call rotation to address production incidents
• Contribute to monitoring, alerting, and crash reporting for both mobile platforms
• Take part in and conduct code reviews across both platforms
• Write and enhance automated tests at the unit, integration, and UI levels
• Document your work: including technical choices, platform-specific patterns, and release procedures
• Recognize and implement enhancements to team development workflows
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering leadership to align on priorities and project scope
• Clearly communicate status, blockers, and technical trade-offs in both written and verbal forms
• Make prioritization decisions within your tasks, linking them to customer and business outcomes
• Over 5 years of professional software engineering experience, with a minimum of 2 years focused on developing and launching production-level native mobile applications
• Strong expertise in Swift for iOS and Kotlin for Android
• Proven experience in launching applications through both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, including managing builds, signing, review processes, and releases
• Demonstrated capability to work within, enhance, and modernize existing native codebases without causing disruptions
• Familiarity with platform-native UI frameworks (SwiftUI and UIKit, Jetpack Compose)
• Experience in building mobile applications that utilize REST APIs
• Proficiency in writing automated tests for mobile applications (unit, integration, or UI)
• Comfort in navigating ambiguity: defining work from vague inputs, making trade-offs, and adapting when requirements change
• Willingness to be part of an on-call rotation and respond to production incidents
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to articulate technical decisions to non-engineers.
