This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Deliver software and Java development proficiency throughout the Software Development Lifecycle.
• Design, develop, document, test, and debug application software effectively.
• Create and implement user interfaces for web applications using ReactJS.
• Construct XML samples and relevant XSD according to requirements and applicable standards.
• Convert UX/UI concepts into operational components.
• Collaborate with diverse engineering and development teams on cloud-based functionalities and COTS software.
• Assess user requirements and software specifications for feasibility within budget and time limits.
• Consult with systems analysts, engineers, and cross-functional teams regarding software design, limitations, capabilities, performance requirements, and interfaces.
• Design, develop, and modify software systems utilizing scientific analysis and mathematical models.
• Oversee software testing and deployment to ensure adherence to specifications.
• Provide technical expertise to the Scrum Master and Scrum Team for contract deliverables.
• Support the Chief Enterprise Architect, Release Train Engineer, senior leadership, and clients on best practices in software development.
• Assist with Quality Assurance and Quality Control verification throughout relevant software development stages.
• Work alongside government Product Owners, cross-functional teams, and client vendors to facilitate rapid software integration and interoperability.
• Guarantee the quality of services and deliverables across the contract.
• Maintain customer satisfaction and ensure compliance with government and corporate policies.
• A minimum of 12 years of experience with a BS/BA, 10 years with an MS/MA, or 7 years with a Ph.D.
• Must hold an active Secret clearance.
• Practical experience with AI agents, including multi-step reasoning, tool usage, RAG pipelines, or autonomous task execution.
• Experience in integrating LLMs into production or near-production environments.
• Proven track record in designing and developing integrations with external information sources.
• Experience in packaging external capabilities as agent tools or skills with clean interfaces, predictable inputs and outputs, error handling, and documentation.
• Proficient in Python (3.12+), including async/await patterns, type hints, and modern Python tools.
• Familiarity with FastAPI/Python backends, React frontends, Docker containerization, and PostgreSQL.
• Experience in building and consuming web APIs, including REST or GraphQL.
• Knowledge of authentication, pagination, rate limiting, retry/backoff strategies, schema mapping, deduplication, and caching.
• Experience with workflow or task orchestration systems like Airflow, Prefect, or Celery, or similar agent orchestration methods.
• Understanding of agentic frameworks and concepts such as chains, tool calling, and agent loops.
• Experience working with LLM APIs, including OpenAI, Anthropic, or AWS Bedrock.
• Knowledge of secrets management, OAuth and API-key handling, rate-limit etiquette, defensive parsing, and prompt-injection awareness.
• A product mindset that prioritizes end users.
