Full Stack Developer – Python, Java, Angular, AWS

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.

📋 Description

• Become a part of a dynamic Agile engineering team dedicated to the design, development, and maintenance of secure, scalable cloud-native applications.

• Create, develop, test, and sustain enterprise software applications that support CBP systems.

• Provide secure, scalable, and high-quality software while working closely with engineers, architects, product owners, and stakeholders.

• Design, develop, and maintain full-stack applications that facilitate both legacy modernization and new development projects.

• Construct scalable backend services utilizing Python, Java, and Spring Boot.

• Create responsive, modern user interfaces with Angular, TypeScript, Angular Material, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

• Design and utilize RESTful APIs within a microservices architecture.

• Develop applications in Linux containerized environments.

• Engage in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, retrospectives, testing, demonstrations, and production releases.

• Collaborate closely with software engineers, architects, stakeholders, and end users throughout the software development lifecycle.

• Improve existing applications through performance optimization, feature enhancements, and technical modernization.

• Conduct code reviews and advocate for engineering best practices within the team.

• Analyze complex technical issues and devise innovative, scalable solutions.

• Assist in ensuring software quality, reliability, and timely delivery.

• Mentor junior developers and foster a collaborative engineering culture.

• Continuously assess and adopt modern development tools, frameworks, and best practices.

• U.S. Citizenship.

• Capability to obtain and maintain a CBP Public Trust.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).

• Over 7 years of professional software development experience.

• Experience in developing applications within Linux containerized environments.

• Proven experience with:

• - Microservices Architecture

• - Strong expertise in designing and developing RESTful APIs.

• - Deep understanding of Angular development, including Angular Material, component architecture, state management, and UI performance optimization.

• - Experience in developing and maintaining Python applications, backend services, APIs, or automation in enterprise settings.

• - Experience in integrating Angular frontends with Spring Boot microservices.

• - Experience in building Single Page Applications (SPA).

• - Experience in creating reusable libraries and responsive user interfaces.

• - Strong grasp of Object-Oriented Design (OOD), Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA), and software engineering best practices.

• - Experience using Git and collaborative source control workflows.

• - Familiarity with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including planning, requirements management, development, testing, quality assurance, configuration management, and release management.

• - Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across both technical and non-technical teams.
