This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.
• Plan, design, develop, and test sophisticated data processing systems and dashboards within the CMS Agile XLC framework.
• Execute application enhancements and create new products across various layers including UI, web server, application server, cloud host, database, reporting, DevOps, and application monitoring.
• Utilize technologies such as JEE, JBoss, Ruby on Rails, MarkLogic, Red Hat, AWS, Edifecs, along with other EDI and data analytical tools.
• Collaborate closely with the Scrum Team to ensure adherence to the proposed architecture and compliance with industry development standards and best practices.
• Conduct code reviews and present findings at PDRs and DDRs.
• Assist in the development of technical documentation.
• Support IT program requirements and contribute to metrics development, definition, data quality assessment, and strategic analysis.
• Gather and analyze data to produce forecasts, assessments, recommendations, and reports.
• Provide support for risk management and metrics.
• Take part in project timelines, implementation design specifications, system flow diagrams, documentation, testing, and ongoing application support.
• 3–4 years of hands-on experience with Java, OOP, J2EE, and microservice design fundamentals.
• Familiarity with the Agile Scrum delivery model.
• Strong understanding of multithreading and design patterns.
• Experience with Spring Boot and/or Quarkus.
• Proven experience in building and consuming REST APIs.
• Knowledge of integration frameworks such as Apache Camel.
• Experience with messaging systems like ActiveMQ, Kafka, or AWS SQS.
• Proficiency in JSON, XML, and XSD schemas.
• Familiarity with both relational and NoSQL databases.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services such as S3, Lambda, CloudWatch, or RDS.
• Basic knowledge of Docker and an understanding of Kubernetes or OpenShift.
• Experience with CI/CD tools, including Jenkins, Git, and Maven.
• Comfortable working within Linux environments.
• Experience with JUnit, Mockito, or similar testing tools.
• Familiarity with Postman, SOAP UI, or comparable tools.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
• Basic Python scripting for automation or AWS tasks is considered a bonus.
• Exposure to JavaScript for frontend or full-stack development is a plus.
• Must possess US work authorization that does not currently or in the future require visa sponsorship.
