This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop, customize, and maintain responsive website templates, themes, and reusable UI elements.
• Operate within the WordPress framework, utilizing The Loop, hooks (actions/filters), and custom post types.
• Create and implement modular content structures and custom fields to facilitate efficient editing for clients.
• Integrate and tailor third-party modules, e-commerce platforms, web forms, and external APIs.
• Construct and oversee site pages using visual editors, page builders, and block systems while adhering to clean coding standards.
• Generate responsive and accessible web experiences utilizing HTML5, CSS3 (Flexbox/Grid), and JavaScript (both vanilla and jQuery).
• Convert Figma or Adobe XD designs into pixel-perfect, production-ready websites.
• Guarantee compatibility across different browsers and devices.
• Ensure alignment with brand guidelines and design systems.
• Optimize websites for speed and performance (Core Web Vitals, image optimization, caching strategies).
• Diagnose and address issues such as plugin conflicts, layout issues, or site outages.
• Conduct routine updates, quality assurance, and ongoing site maintenance.
• Assist with website migrations (from staging to production, host-to-host transfers).
• Implement and uphold site security best practices (SSL, updates, monitoring).
• Engage with MySQL/phpMyAdmin for basic database management tasks.
• Manage hosting environments (e.g., WP Engine, SiteGround, cPanel).
• Execute DNS updates and domain configurations as necessary.
• Operate within version control systems (GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket).
• Produce clean, well-documented code to facilitate collaboration and handoffs.
• Clearly communicate timelines, obstacles, and technical recommendations to non-technical stakeholders.
• Collaborate effectively in a dynamic, deadline-oriented agency setting.
• 5+ years of pertinent experience in front-end and WordPress development, preferably in an agency or client services context.
• Strong portfolio showcasing live client websites that illustrate custom template, theme, or component development across contemporary web platforms.
• Profound understanding of responsive design and modern front-end development methodologies.
• Expertise in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP.
• Solid background in Git version control, including branch management, pull requests, and collaborative coding workflows.
• Experience with ACF and custom WordPress setups.
• Proven track record of optimizing sites for performance and SEO best practices.
• Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG).
• Experience collaborating with design teams using Figma or Adobe XD.
• Comfort with AI-assisted development tools to enhance efficiency.
• Able to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Adaptable to shifting priorities or compressed timelines.
• Dependable and responsive during agreed working hours.
• Capable of translating technical ideas into clear, actionable insights for non-technical team members.
