This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Lead initiatives aimed at providing value to our users by ensuring that the software delivered by your team is of high quality, highly available, monitored, and maintainable.
• Assist the team in navigating trade-offs and fostering alignment in a fast-paced environment, balancing rapid delivery with thoughtful, long-term strategies across a portfolio of user experiences in the browser.
• Articulate your team’s objectives, the scope and risks associated with your projects, and take ownership of delivering initiatives within established timelines.
• Identify, develop, and refine engineering processes that promote a high-performing team.
• Regularly engage in one-on-one discussions with your team to address both technical tasks and professional growth; provide direct and constructive feedback regarding their individual performances.
• Ensure that developers receive adequate support and empowerment throughout the development lifecycle.
• Foster an inclusive environment that engages and challenges your team members.
• Collaborate effectively with various teams, including Product, UX, QA, Operations, and Data Science.
• Over 4 years of experience leading engineers in a software development setting and collaborating across multiple distributed teams.
• A software engineering background that enables you to drive technical decisions within the team and engage with engineers of all experience levels to triage, prioritize, and implement solutions.
• Proven experience managing multiple concurrent projects.
• Prior involvement in frontend platform initiatives, such as design systems and frontend architectural enhancements.
• A history of delivering front-end experiences for user-facing products.
• Practical experience with web technologies, including JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
• A successful track record of leading and delivering complex user-facing experiences on schedule while using data to inform timelines.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to cultivate positive relationships with others, regardless of their position or role.
• A passion for problem-solving, risk management, leading change, and facilitating collaborative decision-making.
• Experience effectively communicating with senior leadership and advocating for engineering priorities.
• A desire to grow and learn as a manager, to develop others, and to achieve results through teamwork rather than solely relying on personal technical skills.
• Capable of hiring, mentoring, empowering, developing, and delegating to geographically distributed team members with diverse skill sets.
