This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.
• Design, develop, and sustain contemporary web-based and cross-platform user interfaces for federal applications.
• Revamp outdated legacy interfaces into responsive, user-friendly, and scalable solutions.
• Create dashboards, reporting portals, case management views, and search-driven user experiences.
• Integrate frontend applications with secure backend services, middleware, and REST APIs.
• Enhance usability, accessibility, and workflow efficiency for both internal and external government users.
• Ensure adherence to Section 508 accessibility standards, WCAG guidelines, and federal UI best practices.
• Collaborate with backend developers, architects, analysts, and stakeholders to establish modernization priorities.
• Engage in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, standups, retrospectives, demos, and backlog refinement.
• Support CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and DevSecOps deployment processes.
• Diagnose UI defects, browser compatibility issues, and performance bottlenecks.
• Assist in user acceptance testing and production releases.
• Draft technical documentation, style guides, and reusable component libraries.
• A bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred; a high school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Over three (3+) years of professional frontend or UI development experience, ideally in a federal office environment.
• Experience in developing responsive web or cross-platform GUI applications and integrating them with REST APIs and backend services.
• Proficient in creating dashboards, search tools, forms, and workflow interfaces.
• Familiar with modern JavaScript frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.
• Knowledge of Python 3.x application environments and backend integrations.
• Understanding of FastAPI, Flask, or Django-based systems.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps methodologies.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
