French Linguist, Translator – Gaming

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Translate in-game text, user interface elements, legally relevant documentation, and supplementary materials in accordance with client guidelines, terminology, tone, and style.

• Review and revise translations for linguistic precision, consistency, and natural flow.

• Engage in creative translation and localization tasks.

• Create, maintain, and update glossaries, style guides, and character profiles.

• Meet project deadlines and productivity goals while ensuring quality standards are upheld.

• Maintain consistency in tone, voice, and terminology across all content and game components.

• Collaborate with fellow translators to review work for coherence and logical content flow.

• Identify and resolve localization challenges and testing bugs.

• Utilize translation and project management tools like memoQ and JIRA to monitor progress and workflow.

• Enter, track, and respond to localization inquiries.

• Assist in onboarding new translators.

• Support candidate test evaluations and updates.

• Work closely with clients on daily language-related matters.

• Adapt flexibly to changing project requirements and priorities.

• Ensure compliance with Security, Confidentiality, Health & Safety, IT, HR, ethical business practices, ISO, GDPR, and client confidentiality standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Exceptional proficiency in both French and English.

• Strong cultural awareness of the French market.

• Ability to work full-time as a fixed-term contract employee.

• 1–3 years of experience in translation, localization, or related language services, with a preference for game localization experience.

• Solid knowledge of CAT tools such as memoQ, Trados, XTM, and client-specific systems.

• Familiarity with workflow platforms like JIRA and Plunet.

• Excellent linguistic accuracy and attention to detail, emphasizing consistency.

• Capability to manage independent tasks efficiently.

• Strong problem-solving abilities and communication skills.

• Flexibility to adapt to feedback and changing project demands.

• Comfortable working under tight deadlines.

• Commitment to company policies, ISO quality standards, GDPR, and client confidentiality.

• Responsible work ethic that promotes safe and supportive working practices.
