Freelance Translator, French Canadian

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ireland.

📋 Description

• Deliver translation and localization solutions in the marketing and IT fields

• Execute translations for marketing and IT materials

• Carry out linguistic reviews and ensure quality assurance

• Verify terminology consistency utilizing translation memories, glossaries, and style guides

• Ensure the excellence of all deliverables

• Collaborate within a vibrant team in a global setting

• Offer services on an ongoing, project-based basis

• Adapt swiftly to evolving project requirements and priorities

⛳️ Requirements

• Native proficiency in French Canadian

• Degree in Applied Linguistics, Translation, or equivalent professional experience

• IT proficiency with knowledge of SDL Studio and CAT tools

• Preferred background as a translator with specialization in marketing and IT translation and proofreading

• Skills in editorial and/or journalistic writing

• Current with language and terminology trends

• Exceptional written and spoken English skills

• Familiarity with US American culture and pop culture

• Ability to identify wordplay or visual references and adapt them to the target language

• Detail-oriented with a focus on quality

• Passionate about languages

• Capability to operate within a confidential environment

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, demanding environment with shifting project priorities and tight deadlines

• Willingness to travel as required by business

• Proficient in handling pressure and meeting tight deadlines

• Good availability, ideally at least 4 hours per day

• Quick response time to inquiries
