Freelance Software Engineer – App Development, Hydrogen, Shopify

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Enhance the PURELEI Club App as a hybrid solution that includes a Flutter shell integrated with a Hydrogen web application.

• Connect the app to Shopify Storefront and Admin APIs.

• Take initiative to implement clearly defined features from the technical design phase through to implementation and release.

• Create web applications utilizing TypeScript, React, and server-side rendering techniques.

• Work collaboratively with the team to determine suitable technical strategies for meeting requirements.

• Produce maintainable, well-documented solutions that align with the existing codebase.

• Maintain quality through thorough testing and systematic bug analysis.

• Optionally assist with the Shopify web shop by developing themes, Functions, and Extensions on an as-needed basis.

• Effectively utilize LLMs and AI tools while critically assessing the outcomes.

• Complete a concise technical test task as a written proposal for a real app feature.

⛳️ Requirements

• Several years of professional experience in web or full-stack development.

• Familiarity with Shopify and a comprehensive understanding of the platform’s strengths, weaknesses, and common solution patterns.

• Proficient in TypeScript and React.

• Experience with server-side rendered React applications, such as Hydrogen, Next.js, or similar technologies.

• Knowledge of maintainable architecture, testing practices, and high code quality standards.

• Effective use of LLMs and AI tools, along with the ability to critically assess their outputs.

• Capability to independently develop and evaluate solutions.

• Self-reliant, pragmatic, and organized working style without the need for micromanagement.

• Ability to clearly communicate technical decisions.

• Proficient in German and/or English.

• Experience with Flutter and hybrid app architectures is advantageous but not mandatory.

• Familiarity with Shopify theme development (Liquid), Shopify Functions, and Extensions is a plus but not essential.
