Freelance QA Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in France.

📋 Description

• Act as the QA point of contact for the KYC/Onboarding and Capital Deposit product teams throughout the duration of the contract.

• Ensure the quality of features delivered by both teams.

• Mitigate automated test debt within KYC/Onboarding and Capital Deposit workflows.

• Acquire knowledge of business rules and regulatory requirements pertaining to onboarding and capital deposit processes.

• Collaborate with Product Managers and engineers to analyze specifications and user stories, identifying ambiguities, missing rules, and potential risks early on.

• Develop risk-based testing strategies and functional test cases utilizing ISTQB methodologies.

• Conduct functional, exploratory, and regression testing across user interfaces and APIs.

• Validate software releases.

• Automate end-to-end scenarios using Cucumber/Gherkin and Playwright with TypeScript.

• Oversee the maintenance of existing automated test suites.

• Manage the Qase test repository and requirements repository to ensure accurate traceability.

• Report and classify bugs, track their resolution, and engage in root-cause analyses and post-mortem evaluations.

• Coordinate QA priorities among two squads and relay test status, risks, and obstacles.

• Utilize AI tools to enhance test analysis, design, and automation while critically assessing the outputs.

• Share knowledge of QA automation and AI practices with the QA team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven QA Engineer / software tester with approximately 4+ years of experience.

• Experience working within an agile product team is preferred.

• Ability to prioritize tasks across multiple teams and effectively communicate status, risks, and blockers.

• Experience in testing APIs (GraphQL or REST) and web interfaces.

• Practical experience with test automation, preferably with Playwright and/or Cucumber/Gherkin.

• Proficient in reading and writing TypeScript or a similar programming language.

• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

• Familiarity with AI tools such as Claude, Copilot, or ChatGPT for testing purposes, or a willingness to utilize them.

• Experience in banking, fintech, or another regulated sector is highly advantageous.

• Knowledge and practical application of ISTQB concepts and terminology.

• ISTQB certification is an added benefit.

• Fluency in both English and French.
