Freelance Infrastructure Finance Reporter – APAC Focus

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.

📋 Description

• Create a steady stream of exclusive articles and analyses regarding infrastructure finance transactions and investment trends in Australia and the APAC region.

• Report on significant developments in project finance deals, M&A activities, debt/equity fundraising, and secondary market movements.

• Establish and nurture a robust regional network of contacts, including:

• Project developers and sponsors.

• Infrastructure and pension funds.

• Banks and private credit investors.

• Government stakeholders and policymakers.

• Legal and financial advisors.

• Conduct interviews with senior decision-makers such as C-suite executives, fund managers, and originators.

• Participate in key industry conferences, investor days, and market events throughout Australia and the Asia-Pacific region.

• Deliver timely and accurate reporting while adhering to tight deadlines.

• Offer forward-looking insights on policy changes, regulatory updates, and market dynamics.

• Collaborate with editors, analysts, and other contributors as needed.


⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in financial journalism, preferably with a focus on infrastructure finance, energy, or project finance markets.

• Proven ability to break exclusive stories and develop unique angles.

• Well-established network of sources within the Australian and/or APAC infrastructure markets.

• Strong comprehension of:

• Project finance and PPP structures.

• Debt and equity capital markets.

• Australian infrastructure policy and the regulatory landscape.

• Exceptional written and verbal English skills.

• Highly self-driven, proactive, and determined in sourcing stories.

• Capability to work autonomously with minimal oversight.

• Willingness to travel across Australia and the APAC region for important industry events.
