Freelance Auditor, Textile Exchange Standards – GRS, RCS, CCS

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Perform both on-site and remote audits in accordance with Textile Exchange standards, following established scheme rules and SCS procedures.

• Assess supply chain traceability, claims regarding recycled content, and pertinent production methods.

• Gather objective evidence and evaluate adherence to relevant program requirements.

• Create precise and prompt audit reports along with necessary supporting documentation.

• Liaise with SCS program staff and representatives from client organizations.

• Assist in documenting and resolving audit findings as well as implementing corrective actions.

• Ensure auditor qualifications are maintained and remain updated with Textile Exchange program standards.

• Conduct audits and compile audit documentation, with technical reviews performed by SCS technical personnel.

• Audit various stakeholders in the supply chain, including manufacturers, processors, recyclers, traders, and more.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be approved and qualified by Textile Exchange to perform audits for one or more standards: GRS, RCS, CCS, or MMS.

• Currently hold active qualifications for GRS, RCS, CCS, or MMS audits.

• Proven experience in conducting Textile Exchange audits within accredited certification frameworks.

• Knowledge of Textile Exchange audit protocols, certification procedures, and reporting standards.

• Relevant professional background in textile and apparel manufacturing, textile processing or finishing, recycling operations, supply chain traceability systems, or sectors utilizing recycled materials.

• Proficient in English.

• Willingness and capability to travel within Europe.

• Excellent technical writing and documentation abilities.

• Competence in managing multiple audits and deadlines autonomously.

• Comfortable executing both on-site and remote audits.

• Proficiency in additional European languages is a plus, including German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, or Turkish.

• Experience in auditing or verifying recycled materials and content claims is highly regarded but not mandatory.

• Familiarity with mass balance systems, material traceability, or chain-of-custody style verification is considered a strong asset but not required.

• ISO Management Systems qualification or experience in auditing ISO 9001 or ISO 14001 is highly valued but not essential.
