Fraud Operations Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Malaysia.

📋 Description

• Evaluate alerts for suspicious or system-generated transactions, making decisions guided by fraud regulations and protocols.

• Oversee real-time transaction queues to pinpoint high-risk activities and emerging fraud patterns.

• Examine customer behaviors and transaction trends to identify irregularities.

• Detect card-not-present (CNP) fraud, compromised accounts, third-party fraud, and friendly fraud.

• Design, test, and conduct A/B tests for rules in rule-based fraud detection systems.

• Assist in data exploration and reporting for fraud key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational efficiency.

• Prepare and file Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) when necessary.

• Evaluate significant fraud risks and suggest enhancements to mitigate fraud exposure.

• Propose improvements for systems, analytics, and operational processes.

• Participate in initiatives aimed at enhancing fraud detection and operational effectiveness.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in fraud or financial crime, specifically within the banking or fintech sectors.

• Background in investigating fraud cases, such as investment scams or Authorised Push Payment (APP) fraud (preferred).

• Exceptional analytical and investigative abilities with a keen eye for detail.

• Knowledge of cryptocurrency, online payment processing, and payment platforms.

• Strong technical proficiency in Excel, SQL, Microsoft Office, and PowerPoint.

• Capability to thrive in high-volume, fast-paced settings.

• Skill in translating complex data analyses into straightforward insights and recommendations.

• Familiarity with fraud detection tools like Checkout, Chainalysis, or similar platforms (advantageous).

• Experience in statistical analysis (beneficial).

• Background in chargeback investigations (advantageous).

• Willingness to work on weekends.

• Proficiency in spoken and written English.

• Ability to adhere to a scheduled work pattern of five days on, two days off, including regular weekend shifts.
