This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• The Staff Accountant is crucial in ensuring the integrity, precision, and timeliness of our client’s financial reporting.
• This position involves posting donations and other revenues, monitoring restricted cash balances, issuing travel invoices, assisting with audit processes, reviewing monthly financial statements, and documenting essential procedures.
• The Contractor must possess flexibility, effectively adapt to changing situations, and collaborate well within a team, building strong working relationships across various departments.
• This role necessitates staying updated on key financial activities such as revenue trends, budget discrepancies, cash flow management, leadership reporting, and system improvements.
• Key stakeholders consist of the Financial Controller, Bookkeeper, Leadership Team, donors, and auditors.
• This position is accountable to the Controller.
• A minimum of 2-4 years of experience in a non-profit accounting or finance role.
• A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• A solid understanding of non-profit accounting is required.
• A strong grasp of GAAP accounting is preferred.
• High personal organization skills with the ability to handle multiple work streams and manage competing priorities.
• Strong analytical abilities with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy, along with the ability to adapt when necessary.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience in supporting budgeting and audit processes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Slack, and accounting systems (ERP experience preferred).
• Capability to quickly learn new technology systems and understand automation processes.
• A passion for evangelism, especially in the 10/40 window.
• Alignment with our client’s Statement of Faith (Lausanne Covenant).
