This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Prepare and draft probate petitions, pleadings, inventories, accountings, fiduciary documents, and related court filings.
• Manage probate issues from the opening of the estate to final distribution and closure.
• Draft and revise estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, and other related documents.
• Prepare correspondence, engagement letters, and communications for clients.
• Coordinate with clients, beneficiaries, fiduciaries, financial institutions, title companies, and court personnel.
• Monitor court deadlines and maintain precise case calendars.
• Organize and preserve electronic client files and legal records.
• Assist attorneys in gathering estate assets, preparing inventories, and organizing supporting documents.
• Schedule client meetings and aid in managing the attorney's calendar.
• Uphold strict confidentiality and exhibit outstanding attention to detail.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Probate Paralegal or Legal Assistant.
• Extensive expertise in managing probate administration from estate opening to final closure.
• Proven experience in drafting probate pleadings, petitions, inventories, accountings, fiduciary documents, and associated court filings.
• Background in estate planning, including the drafting of wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and related documents.
• Strong understanding of probate court procedures and filing requirements.
• Experience in direct communication with clients, courts, financial institutions, and fiduciaries.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Exceptional organizational, proofreading, and time management skills.
• Capability to independently prioritize multiple matters in a deadline-driven environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and legal practice management software such as Clio, MyCase, or similar platforms.
• Must have knowledge of California law.
• Experience working within California jurisdictions.
• Familiarity with electronic court filing systems in California.
• Experience with trust administration in California.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable working independently in a fully remote setting.
• Must be a resident of the United States.
• Flexibility to work remotely.
• Part-time contractor (1099) arrangement.
