FP&A Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Oversee the FP&A function under the CFO at a rapidly growing company.

• Provide direct support for the monthly accounting close, ensuring quick insights into the business from the financial records and offering essential accounting expertise during onboarding.

• Engage in full-cycle accounting tasks during the initial months, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, accounts payable, and supporting the close process.

• Manage and enhance the integrated financial model, conducting scenario analyses and providing insights for capital allocation decisions.

• Lead the preparation of monthly board materials, lender reporting packages, the covenant dashboard, and the KPI dashboard.

• Assist with analytical integration work for any strategic transactions, including day-one readiness, synergy tracking, report creation, and post-close variance analysis.

• Take charge of service-line gross margin analysis, revenue forecasting, headcount planning, and conducting ad-hoc analyses for executives and the board.

⛳️ Requirements

• Between four to eight years of progressive FP&A experience, preferably with complete ownership of a financial model.

• Proficient in Excel and financial modeling skills.

• A Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field.

• CPA, CFA, or MBA certifications are advantageous but not mandatory.

• A curious mindset: You enjoy learning and consistently question 'why' and 'what else' before opting for the easy solution.

• Tech and AI proficiency: You quickly adapt to new technologies and already utilize tools like Claude, ChatGPT, or similar to enhance analytical work, automate tasks, and manage unstructured data.

• An ownership mindset: You can take a workstream from inception to final product without the need for daily oversight.

• Operating style: Comfortable being the sole FP&A professional on the team currently, with an understanding that the team will expand.

• Growth orientation: You view this position as a stepping stone to becoming the Director of FP&A or Controller as the company evolves.
