• Take charge of the annual budgeting, quarterly re-forecasting, and long-range planning processes, ensuring that financial results align with business strategy.
• Develop and maintain the company’s consolidated operating model along with driver-based financial models for revenue, operating expenses, headcount, and cash flow.
• Collaborate with department leaders to manage their budgets, comprehend their analytical requirements, and pinpoint opportunities for increased efficiency.
• Oversee monthly close reviews: prepare analyses comparing budget versus actuals, elucidate variances, and transform results into concise narratives for executive leadership.
• Monitor and report on SaaS and operational key performance indicators (KPIs) such as ARR, NRR, CAC payback, magic number, and operating margins, while uncovering insights behind the metrics.
• Create materials for the Board, investors, and executives: quarterly Board presentations, operational reviews, and ad-hoc strategic analyses.
• Conduct scenario planning, sensitivity analyses, and unit economics evaluations to assist with capital allocation, pricing, and headcount decisions.
• Enhance the FP&A technology stack and processes: improve data quality, automate reporting, and reduce the cycle time for planning and forecasting.
• Assist with strategic finance projects as they arise — including capital raises, M&A diligence, pricing analysis, and other ad-hoc tasks for the leadership team.
• Over 5 years of progressive experience in FP&A, strategic finance, investment banking, private equity, or management consulting, with a portion of that experience in a high-growth software company.
• Proficient financial modeling abilities: capable of constructing a complex, dynamic, driver-based model from scratch, with strong opinions regarding model structure, auditability, and clarity.
• Comprehensive understanding of SaaS metrics and unit economics.
• Solid grasp of GAAP accounting principles and their connection to FP&A outputs.
• Proven business partnership skills: able to engage with non-financial leaders, comprehend their functions, and assist them in making informed decisions through analysis.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting to and being challenged by the executive team and Board.
• High sense of ownership and bias towards action; capable of defining and driving outcomes independently in an environment that is still establishing processes and systems.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
