This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Collaborating with a variety of stakeholders and leaders, such as accounting, accounting operations, actuarial, claims, operations, network, market, product, data, engineering, legal, and others, to ensure the effective implementation of policies, procedures, controls, and reporting that support the achievement of provider risk sharing and reinsurance goals.
• This involves taking ownership or assisting in the creation of risk provider balances and various components of the monthly financial closing process, encompassing settlement statements, previews, invoicing, deficit collection, reserves, reinsurance accounting, and surplus/deficit forecasting.
• Additionally, this position will work closely with network, data, engineering, and operations leadership to facilitate the flow of information and enable reporting as requested by third-party providers.
• The role will also encompass understanding both current and future contractual provider risk and reinsurance arrangements in detail.
• Collaborating with various senior leaders to influence, support, and advance the Company’s strategic direction regarding these agreements.
• Ensuring the successful execution and accomplishment of related policies, procedures, controls, and reporting, consistent with the Company’s expectations and contractual obligations.
• This includes either supporting or leading various aspects of the end-to-end process, such as contracting/negotiations, monitoring, reconciliation, reporting, governance, dispute resolution, accounting, settlement, and collection.
• Ensuring that control activities in these areas are effectively designed and operated to meet the Company’s objectives, including accurate and timely accounting and reporting, compliance with contractual terms, proper stewardship over cash and other assets, and achieving desired counterparty performance and service levels.
• Being a vital member of a cross-functional team focused on continuous improvement and standardization of policy, process, and control, with a strong emphasis on technology development.
• Supporting and assisting direct counterparty-facing teams and other relevant functional teams in building and maintaining provider relationships through education, tools, analytical support, performance monitoring, supplemental reporting, and direct interactions as needed.
• Gradually becoming recognized as a key subject matter expert and process owner, both internally and externally.
• Taking ownership and responsibility for addressing applicable audit, examination, and other regulatory or compliance inquiries and requests.
• Experience in healthcare services and/or health insurance.
• Familiarity with value-based care contracts.
• A minimum of 5–10 years of finance and/or accounting experience.
• A bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field.
• Ability to excel in a fast-paced, startup environment.
• A highly motivated, proactive, relationship-oriented, and detail-focused approach.
• Experience with Medicare Advantage is preferred.
• Familiarity with intercompany risk providers or similar agreements is ideal.
