This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.
• Take ownership of the product analytics infrastructure utilizing the current stack, which includes Snowflake, Superset, lightweight Python workflows, APIs, and Google Sheets.
• Develop and enhance the processing layer within Snowflake to simplify downstream reporting and analysis, making it more reusable and robust.
• Establish self-service analytics for Product and business stakeholders, even with imperfect tools, particularly in Superset.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to design tracking for new features by defining events, properties, and measurement requirements.
• Update and maintain tracking and downstream reporting in response to product changes, schema alterations, or when existing logic fails.
• Address discrepancies in data across tools, reports, and source logic, and produce clearer metric definitions that stakeholders can rely on.
• Manage recurring reporting processes including product reports, internal reports, investor updates, and client-facing dashboards.
• Streamline manual reporting tasks wherever feasible, while considering stakeholder requirements, including outputs in Google Sheets or other non-standard formats.
• Conduct ad-hoc investigations and specialized analyses when dashboards fall short, including retrieving data from alternative sources or APIs as needed.
• Document the current analytics and reporting framework to ensure knowledge is shared and not confined to a single individual.
• Proactively identify tracking, schema, and instrumentation gaps, collaborating with Engineering to minimize reporting disruptions over time.
• Contribute to the evolution of the analytics stack, including assessing and leading the implementation of a modern product analytics platform like Amplitude.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in product analytics, data analytics, or a comparable hands-on role.
• Proficient in SQL and Snowflake or a similar cloud data warehouse environment.
• Experience in creating intermediate processing tables, reusable data models, or data marts for downstream analytics.
• Strong proficiency in BI tools, preferably Superset, and/or other platforms such as Tableau, Looker, or Power BI.
• Comfortable with basic Python scripting for analytics tasks, including working with pandas, JSON handling, and executing simple scripts and API-based data pulls.
• Proven experience in designing and maintaining product tracking for features, events, properties, funnels, and retention metrics.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues with reporting logic when schemas, instrumentation, or source systems change.
• Experience in managing recurring reporting and ensuring critical reporting streams remain operational under challenging conditions.
• Proficient in using Google Sheets as a stakeholder-facing output, even when it may not be the ideal long-term solution.
• Strong understanding of product metrics, including feature usage, engagement, drop-off rates, funnels, cohorts, and retention.
• Excellent communication and judgment skills: capable of clarifying ambiguous requests, aligning on definitions, and articulating trade-offs clearly.
• Comfortable working independently as an individual contributor in a startup environment, including temporarily managing key reporting while establishing improved structures.
• Fully remote position with top-tier IT equipment provided.
• Regular team events to foster collaboration and camaraderie.
