Founding Member of Technical Staff – Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Identify gaps in workflows by collaborating with civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical engineers, as well as architects.

• Define, design, and develop software ranging from computational engines to user interfaces.

• Deliver software to engineers for application on actual projects.

• Monitor usage, assess whether tools enhance productivity, and make iterative improvements.

• Construct the core engineering platform that integrates civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and architectural design.

• Refine physics models and develop computational geometry systems.

• Automate engineering processes.

• Develop AI agents that can reason through engineering documents, drawings, calculations, specifications, and design constraints.

• Establish workflows that convert requirements into integrated 3D models, engineering calculations, and construction documentation.

• Create robust interfaces and infrastructure to support complex engineering workflows.

• Continuously deliver production software and manage features from initial discovery through to iteration.

⛳️ Requirements

• Outstanding software engineer with a track record of building and launching complete products.

• In-depth knowledge of data structures, algorithms, software architecture, and reliability.

• Proficient in working across the technology stack, from backend systems and computational engines to user-facing applications.

• Highly skilled in AI coding agents.

• Eager to understand engineering principles, physical constraints, and the functionality of the built environment.

• Experience in product ownership, including engaging with users, prioritizing tasks, and delivering without awaiting a formal specification.

• Strong product judgment, emphasizing scope reduction and prioritization.

• Background in computational geometry, CAD/BIM, simulation, physics engines, developer tools, or complex technical software is particularly valued.

• Must be eligible for remote work in the US or Canada, except for Quebec.
