Forward Deployment Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Oversee the entire lifecycle of AI solutions for Finance business units, starting from discovery with CFO stakeholders to production deployment, user adoption, and ROI evaluation.

• Quickly prototype specialized applications using Streamlit, Databricks Apps, FastAPI/Flask, or lightweight React interfaces within 1–2 weeks to collect genuine user feedback.

• Manage last-mile execution, addressing edge cases, data anomalies, business rule exceptions, and conducting user training.

• Develop production-grade vertical AI tools utilizing Snowflake Cortex or Databricks Genie.

• Create robust Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines featuring advanced chunking, vector databases, retrieval evaluation, grounding, and citation.

• Implement large language model (LLM) orchestration frameworks and conduct thorough prompt engineering with evaluations for hallucination and accuracy.

• Deploy applications in regulated enterprise settings while complying with RBAC, data residency, audit, and SOX/GxP compliance requirements.

• Integrate solutions with governed datasets, semantic models, and enterprise platforms such as SAP, Workday, Coupa, and ERP systems through secure REST APIs.

• Equip deployed applications with usage metrics, telemetry, and tracking of business outcomes.

• Collaborate closely with senior Finance leadership to convert ambiguous operational challenges into technical roadmaps.

• Extract reusable code components, prompt templates, evaluation harnesses, and retrieval patterns into shared enterprise assets.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in software development and full-stack AI application deployment.

• Strong action-oriented mindset; comfortable delivering rough prototypes in the first week rather than polished specification documents by the fourth week.

• Demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguous business challenges without predefined specifications.

• Exceptional capability to engage directly with senior business leaders without needing intermediary Business Analysts.

• Proficiency in Python, FastAPI/Flask, SQL, and UI frameworks (Streamlit, Databricks Apps, React).

• Direct hands-on experience with Snowflake Cortex or Databricks Genie.

• Production experience with LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, vector search engines, and prompt evaluation harnesses.

• In-depth knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure preferred; AWS/GCP acceptable), modern Git workflows, CI/CD practices, and a basic understanding of MLOps (observability, versioning via LangSmith, Datadog, etc.).

• Strong foundational knowledge of Finance business processes (FP&A, order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, record-to-report, close cycles) and financial metrics (OPEX, EBITDA, gross margin, working capital).

• Previous experience as an FDE, Solutions Engineer, or Field Engineer in high-growth AI/Data companies is a plus.

• Industry experience in Life Sciences, Pharma, Healthcare, or Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) enterprise Finance is desirable.

• Familiarity with enterprise Finance software (SAP S/4HANA, Veeva, Workday Adaptive, Oracle Financials) is advantageous.

• Relevant certifications such as Snowflake Cortex, Databricks Certified, or Azure AI Engineer Associate (AI-102) are beneficial.
