Forward Deployed Engineer, Finance Solutions

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of business outcomes for a set of enterprise accounts from the initial kickoff to production and further expansion.

• Develop semantic models for financial logic, encompassing revenue recognition, cost allocation, general ledger and cost center hierarchies, headcount, and driver-based planning.

• Integrate and map data sources across ERPs, planning systems, and data warehouses, including the reconciliation of actual data.

• Facilitate working sessions with controllers, FP&A leads, and customer data teams.

• Identify whether issues stem from modeling challenges, source data discrepancies, or product limitations, and direct them accordingly.

• Provide targeted product feedback based on customer experiences and challenges.

• Design reusable models, templates, and documentation to expedite time to value.

• Transition accounts from installation to trusted initial output, clarifying reporting figures back to their original sources.

• Enhance delivery playbooks and assist in expansion discussions and the onboarding of future engineers.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience working with data in a production environment.

• Strong proficiency in SQL and a solid understanding of Python.

• Hands-on experience with Snowflake, Databricks, or BigQuery.

• Familiarity with dbt or similar transformation tools.

• Working knowledge of financial data, including chart of accounts, allocations, or closing processes.

• Experience interacting directly with enterprise customers, including scoping, addressing concerns, and communicating bad news early.

• High tolerance for ambiguity and the capability to establish processes without an existing guide.

• Discerning judgment about when to create a customer-specific solution versus a reusable one.

• Knowledge of ERP and planning systems such as NetSuite, Workday, SAP, or Oracle.

• A background in consulting, solutions architecture, or professional services at a data or AI company is highly regarded.

• Experience with regulated buyers is considered a strong asset.

• Previous experience as a first or second technical hire on a customer-facing team is a strong indicator of fit.

• Experience within a finance or accounting function, or equivalent exposure to financial closing processes, is a significant advantage.
