Forward Deployed Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Collaborate directly (remotely or on-site when needed) with customer engineering teams to design and develop real-time applications using LiveKit.

• Create scalable architectures for voice AI, real-time media, and developer platform applications.

• Develop prototype integrations, reference implementations, and sample applications to expedite customer development processes.

• Assist customers in navigating SDKs, APIs, infrastructure, and deployment strategies for production systems.

• Diagnose and resolve complex technical challenges in production environments.

• Facilitate technical workshops and architecture discussions with developers and product teams.

• Convert customer requirements into technical insights that guide product and platform development.

• Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to enhance developer experience, documentation, and tools.

• Contribute code, examples, or enhancements to LiveKit's open-source ecosystem when beneficial.

• Serve as a trusted advisor, aiding customers in successfully launching and scaling applications on LiveKit.

⛳️ Requirements

• Robust engineering background with over 5 years of experience in backend or infrastructure engineering.

• Proficient in one or more programming languages such as Go, Python, Node, Rust, or C++.

• Comfortable working with APIs, SDKs, distributed systems, and cloud infrastructure.

• Experience in building or integrating developer platforms or real-time systems.

• Ability to quickly comprehend complex systems and troubleshoot issues in real-world environments.

• Excellent communication skills, able to work directly with customer engineering teams and internal product groups.

• Comfortable functioning in fast-paced, low-process settings where ownership and initiative are valued.

• Enthusiastic about engaging hands-on with customers to address complex technical implementation challenges.

• Experience with WebRTC, real-time media systems, or telephony/SIP infrastructure (Nice to Have).

• Familiarity with voice AI, conversational agents, or AI infrastructure (Nice to Have).
