Forward Deployed Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Collaborate directly (either remotely or on-site as needed) with customer engineering teams to design and implement real-time applications utilizing LiveKit.

• Create scalable architectures for voice AI, real-time media, and developer platform scenarios.

• Develop prototype integrations, reference implementations, and sample applications to expedite customer development.

• Assist customers in navigating SDKs, APIs, infrastructure, and deployment strategies for production systems.

• Diagnose and resolve complex technical challenges in production environments.

• Facilitate technical workshops and architecture sessions with developers and product teams.

• Convert customer requirements into technical insights that guide product and platform development.

• Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to enhance developer experience, documentation, and tooling.

• Contribute code, examples, or enhancements to LiveKit's open-source community when beneficial.

• Serve as a trusted advisor, assisting customers in successfully launching and scaling applications on LiveKit.

⛳️ Requirements

• Solid engineering foundation with over 5 years of experience in backend or infrastructure engineering.

• Proficient in one or more programming languages such as Go, Python, Node, Rust, or C++.

• Comfortable working with APIs, SDKs, distributed systems, and cloud infrastructure.

• Experience in building or integrating developer platforms or real-time systems.

• Capable of quickly grasping complex systems and debugging issues in live environments.

• Excellent communicator who can engage directly with customer engineering teams and internal product teams.

• At ease operating in fast-paced, low-process settings where ownership and initiative are valued.

• Enthusiastic about hands-on work with customers to tackle complex technical implementation challenges.
