Forward Deployed Computational Biologist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.

📋 Description

• Customize and implement Owkin’s K Pro agentic AI platform according to client requirements

• Develop analytical workflows and seamlessly integrate the platform into clients’ current operations

• Convert intricate biological and operational inquiries into computational workflows

• Examine clinical and multi-omics data utilizing computational biology techniques

• Quickly prototype and iterate with users to validate proposed solutions

• Collaborate with Customer Success Managers, data scientists, biologists, and software engineers

• Convey scientific insights to clinicians, biologists, and technical engineering teams

• Engage in a team-wide on-call rotation

• Work directly with pharmaceutical and biotechnology firms

• Spend time at client locations and travel internationally to client sites as well as the Owkin Paris office

⛳️ Requirements

• MSc/PhD in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Biology, Computer Science, or a related discipline

• Demonstrated expertise in analyzing complex datasets, including real-world clinical data and multimodal omics (bulk, spatial/single-cell, proteomics) and high-throughput experimental data

• Strong understanding of molecular biology and at least one major therapeutic area

• Capability to thrive in fast-paced environments, manage uncertainty, and drive progress towards completion

• Highly proficient programming skills in Python

• Ability to perform exploratory analyses and create data visualizations

• Competence in writing clean, production-quality code

• Strong familiarity with coding agents

• Knowledge of machine learning concepts and frameworks such as scikit-learn and XGBoost

• Exceptional capability to simplify scientific complexity for non-technical audiences

• Willingness to travel internationally and ability to be based near a major international airport or significant train station

• Comfortable with daily communication in English, both spoken and written

• Participation in a team-wide on-call rotation

• Experience in a Biotech/Pharma setting and understanding of the Pharma drug discovery pipeline is preferred

• Proven ability to write production-level code in deployed products is preferred
