This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Conduct thorough investigations to identify the causes and origins of failures, damages, or defects in mechanical systems and components across industrial, commercial, and residential sites.
• Analyze mechanical system failures to ascertain their causes, assess the quality of construction, and evaluate design and maintenance practices.
• Execute field investigations, lead multi-party examinations, and document instances of property damage.
• Investigate failure modes, code requirements, and offer recommendations for repairs and/or replacements as necessary.
• Create precise, clear, comprehensive, and concise reports and accompanying documentation for clients, outlining opinions and conclusions.
• Collaborate within multidisciplinary teams on large, complex projects.
• Foster and maintain established relationships with existing clients and consultants.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• A minimum of 3–5 years of experience in mechanical engineering within the insurance or legal forensics sectors.
• Active Professional Engineering (PE) license is required; must meet the minimum requirements of the resident state.
• Willingness to engage in expert witness activities and provide testimony in court.
• Exceptional verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in computer applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• A strong desire to learn, excel, and advance with the company and within the profession.
• Must be adaptable to travel, with approximately 30–50% travel required.
