This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Conduct research, strategize, and implement FAA certification procedures for commercial aircraft seating and components.

• Carry out standard engineering tasks and influence design choices.

• Facilitate internal technical and design evaluations for the Flammability Certification team.

• Prepare FAA certification documentation for submission to commercial aircraft OEMs and regulatory bodies.

• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, offering technical leadership and insights.

• Assist with Seating products as part of the Main Cabin Flammability Certification team.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related discipline.

• A required bachelor’s degree focused on mechanical, aeronautical, civil, chemical, textile, or other relevant engineering fields under the FAA agreement.

• Must qualify as a U.S. Person.

• Proven ability to work efficiently and collaboratively with team members and cross-functional groups.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications.

• Familiarity with FAA and EASA regulations, policy memos, guidance documents, and standards related to aircraft seat certification is preferred.

• Experience with TC, STC, PMA, or TSO certification processes is preferred.

• Background in materials and processes used in aircraft interior design is preferred.

• Previous aerospace industry experience, particularly with aircraft interiors, is preferred.

• Prior experience in reviewing and approving technical drawings is preferred.

• Proficiency in engineering-related software applications is preferred.

• No security clearance is necessary.
