Fixed Asset Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the management of fixed assets and Construction in Progress (CIP) from the initiation of capital projects to their closure and subsequent asset capitalization.

• Evaluate construction project activities to ensure accurate coding, proper capitalization treatment, and financial precision in line with company policies and GAAP standards.

• Collaborate closely with the Construction and Operations teams to review project specifics, address coding challenges, and enhance the quality of financial data.

• Prepare month-end journal entries, accompanying schedules, and reconciliations pertaining to fixed assets, depreciation, inventory, and capital expenditures.

• Conduct thorough account analysis and variance assessments for fixed asset and capital-related accounts, communicating insights to management.

• Compile monthly CAPEX reporting packages to facilitate the accounting close process.

• Accurately and timely execute reconciliations for Fixed Asset, CIP, and Inventory accounts related to high-value fixed assets and projects.

• Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies, system-related issues, and transactional variances within the general ledger and associated systems.

• Ensure accurate maintenance of fixed asset records while adhering to accounting policies and capitalization guidelines.

• Examine system-related challenges affecting fixed asset reporting processes and work with business partners to find solutions.

• Identify opportunities for enhancing workflows, improving reporting accuracy, automating processes, and increasing operational efficiency in fixed asset accounting functions.

• Assist in the testing, validation, and implementation of system upgrades, process modifications, and code revisions within NetSuite.

• Act as a resource for field and operational teams regarding accounting processes, capitalization policies, and project coding inquiries.

• Aid in the development and maintenance of internal controls, procedures, and documentation concerning fixed asset accounting.

• Provide support for internal and external audit requests related to fixed assets, CIP, and inventory.

• Contribute to year-end reporting and audit schedules.

• Engage in special projects, reporting initiatives, and process improvement activities as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting is mandatory.

• CPA certification is preferred.

• A minimum of 4 years of experience in fixed asset, project accounting, or a related field is required.

• Experience in the telecom industry is preferred.

• Strong knowledge of fixed asset accounting, capitalization policies, GAAP, and month-end closing procedures.

• Capability to manage responsibilities independently while collaborating with various departments.

• Experience in analyzing large datasets and identifying trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for process improvement.

• Strong aptitude for systems with the ability to troubleshoot issues, enhance workflows, and support system upgrades.

• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.

• Advanced proficiency in Excel is required.

• Familiarity with NetSuite, particularly the Fixed Asset module, is strongly preferred.

• Ability to adapt to evolving business needs and juggle multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

• Detail-oriented with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
