Fire & Security Estimator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Analyze architectural floor plans, survey notes, photographs, and site videos to assess layouts and define the scope of projects.

• Evaluate current fire and security systems to identify necessary components, systems, and hardware.

• Estimate material needs, device quantities, cable lengths, and labor requirements based on remote survey data.

• Create detailed, itemized quotes and material lists while ensuring target profit margins are met.

• Obtain supplier pricing for specialized hardware to maintain competitive component costs.

• Spot opportunities for system upgrades, enhancements, or modernization during design evaluations.

• Transform field engineer observations and site reports into professional, client-oriented quotes.

• Collaborate with engineers and clients to clarify technical aspects or request site visits when necessary.

• Ensure all designs are in compliance with manufacturer guidelines and relevant British Standards.

• Address technical inquiries to support the internal Operations and Service teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in estimating, desktop surveying, or system design within the Fire & Security sector.

• Knowledge of fire alarms, intruder alarms, IP CCTV, and access control systems.

• Capability to read and extract measurements from scaled floor plans and schematic drawings.

• Familiarity with applicable British Standards for fire and security installations.

• Proficient in calculating margins, estimating labor, and developing accurate project costs.

• Skilled in MS Office (Excel/Word) and standard quoting software.

• Previous practical experience as an installation or service engineer is preferred.

• Experience utilizing CAD or PDF markup tools (e.g., Bluebeam) for digital takeoffs is preferred.

• Familiarity with major industry brands (e.g., Texecom, Hikvision, Paxton, C-TEC, Ajax, EMS Smartcell, Pyronix) is preferred.
