Fire Protection/Plumbing Engineer III

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee and Manage the Creation of Fire Protection / Plumbing Engineering Documents (50%)

• Execute intermediate to advanced engineering tasks independently

• Conduct intermediate to advanced plumbing and fire protection design activities under the guidance of a senior engineer

• Perform intermediate to advanced calculations and analyses for plumbing systems

• Use AutoCAD and Revit software to generate drawings and visual aids

• Review and draft sequences of operations

• Oversee and Manage Pre-Construction Activities (15%)

• Assess existing building conditions and compile technical reports of findings

• Gather data and other necessary information for construction documents

• Create project design, specifications, and construction documents

• Oversee and Manage Construction Activities (25%)

• Collaborate with the engineering team and closely interact with the project management team

• Communicate directly with clients regarding technical matters

• Evaluate shop drawings and submittals

• Review and address RFIs

• Complete punch lists and finalize project closeout documents

• Reporting (10%)

• Generate project progress reports for both internal and external stakeholders

• Update and maintain the shop drawing and RFI log

• Track personal hours using company tools

• Utilize AI-enabled and digital tools to boost efficiency, lessen manual effort, and ensure consistent, high-quality work output.

• Identify process improvement opportunities and embody a continuous learning mindset by exploring new technologies, skills, and methods that enhance individual and team performance.

⛳️ Requirements

• Intermediate to advanced understanding of designing mechanical, fire protection, and plumbing systems

• Intermediate to advanced familiarity with codes, code analysis, and specifications for mechanical, fire protection, and plumbing systems

• Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams) along with excellent organizational skills for file management

• Skilled in performing and analyzing hydraulic calculations

• Capable of completing tasks accurately and with great attention to detail

• Ability to harness AI and emerging technologies to streamline workflows, optimize operational processes, and contribute to company-wide innovation

• Proven ability to thrive in a remote work environment through effective communication and organizational skills, self-motivation, proactiveness, and resourcefulness in a distraction-free workspace

• Capacity to adhere to company and site safety protocols

• Proficient in analyzing and preparing documents, reports, and correspondence

• Strong communication skills, both oral and written, for conveying technical and non-technical information

• Ability to engage directly with clients and occasionally act as the primary point of contact

• Ability to perform well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
