FinOps Manager – Cloud Financial Management

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Oversee the enterprise FinOps strategy, governance, and roadmap at Ferguson.

• Promote financial responsibility and cost efficiency within technology teams.

• Create cloud financial plans, forecasts, and initiatives for continuous enhancement.

• Manage and optimize cloud expenditures across Azure, AWS, OCI, SaaS, and platform services.

• Lead the processes of budgeting, forecasting, chargeback/showback, and variance analysis.

• Discover and apply cost-reduction strategies, including rightsizing, savings plans, storage, SaaS licensing, and data platform optimization.

• Establish essential metrics, financial controls, tagging standards, and cost allocation models.

• Enhance awareness of technology costs across applications, business units, and accountable parties for services.

• Provide executive dashboards, reports, forecasts, and recommendations for optimization.

• Assist in governance reviews, audits, and compliance obligations.

• Collaborate with cloud providers, managed service providers, and FinOps vendors to maximize value and manage costs.

• Aid in cloud contract negotiations, consumption commitments, and licensing strategies.

• Work with Finance and Strategic Sourcing to pinpoint opportunities for cost optimization.

• Mentor FinOps team members while creating guidelines and scalable processes.

• Foster strong partnerships across Infrastructure, Platform Engineering, Applications, Architecture, Security, Finance, and Procurement teams.

• Act as a trusted advisor on the financial management of cloud services, governance, and optimization.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Finance, Business, Accounting, Engineering, or a related field; an equivalent combination of education and experience will be taken into account.

• Over 5 years of experience in FinOps, cloud financial management, cloud operations, IT finance, technology portfolio management, or a related field.

• More than 3 years of experience leading cross-functional programs, teams, or significant initiatives.

• Experience in managing and optimizing cloud expenditures across Azure, AWS, GCP, and/or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).

• Strong grasp of managing cloud-related finances, including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, cost allocation, financial modeling, and chargeback/showback methodologies.

• Experience in developing and implementing methods to enhance financial efficiency in the cloud, including reservations, savings plans, rightsizing, and resource utilization management.

• Familiarity with FinOps principles, cloud governance frameworks, financial controls, and cost accountability practices.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to convert complex financial and operational data into actionable business insights.

• Strong communication and business customer management skills, including experience presenting recommendations, financial performance, and optimization opportunities to senior leadership.
