FinOps Engineer, Consultant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with team members on FinOps initiatives to enhance the efficiency and sustainability of our clients' cloud usage.

• Create technical solutions to address common FinOps challenges (e.g., tagging, cloud service policies).

• Examine clients' cloud environments to uncover optimization opportunities across IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS services.

• Automate FinOps processes to enhance cost allocation, reporting, and optimization.

• Utilize communication skills to engage with stakeholders from platform, product, and application teams.

• Develop FinOps playbooks and disseminate knowledge among colleagues.

• Conduct FinOps training sessions, present at conferences, and contribute to blog posts.

• Encourage development and innovation within the FinOps field at Reply and the FinOps Foundation.

• Collaborate on new projects such as FinOps for sustainability or Technology Business Management.

⛳️ Requirements

• A university degree in (business) informatics, computer science, computer engineering, or IT management.

• Proficiency in English and German at a business level (minimum B2) with a willingness to travel occasionally.

• Experience in agile teams and familiarity with agile project management methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban).

• A strong customer focus, excellent communication skills, initiative, and conflict resolution abilities.

• Outstanding interpersonal skills, adaptability to meet customer needs, and a passion for tackling challenges in a dynamic environment.

• Knowledge of cloud service providers (AWS, Azure, GCP; relevant certifications are advantageous).

• An eagerness to shape our clients' cloud FinOps journey, with a drive to challenge existing architectures and suggest efficiency enhancements.

• Basic understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform.

• An intrinsic motivation to promote sustainable and efficient cloud solutions.

• Must reside in Germany with the legal authorization to work in the country.
