This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland, +1 more state.
• Lead initiatives for optimizing AWS costs across various cloud environments.
• Conduct analysis for resource rightsizing and utilization.
• Oversee strategies for Reserved Instances (RIs) and Savings Plans.
• Establish frameworks for cost allocation and tagging.
• Keep track of AWS Cost Anomaly Detection alerts.
• Leverage recommendations from AWS Trusted Advisor and the Cost Optimization Hub.
• Examine AWS Cost and Usage Reports (CUR).
• Assist with cost governance within AWS Organizations and multi-account setups.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in AWS cloud operations, cloud engineering, or FinOps.
• Practical experience with tools for AWS cost management and optimization.
• Solid knowledge of AWS Organizations and multi-account structures.
• Familiarity with best practices in cost reporting, allocation, and governance.
• FinOps Certified Practitioner certification is preferred.
• Possession of AWS certification(s) is preferred.
• Educational background in cloud engineering, EECS, Electrical Engineering, or similar technical fields is preferred.
• This role requires candidates to be eligible to work in the United States without the need for current or future visa sponsorship.
• Applicants must consent to fingerprinting and a government background check (CJIS-type clearance process).
