This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Wisconsin.
• Prepare and initiate accounting journal entries
• Generate and dispatch customer statements and reports
• Create and post multiple accounts receivable and billing files
• Compile and submit payment files for supplier invoices (EIB) and customer invoice inbound payments
• Conduct audits on accounts payable invoices
• Maintain and update customer billing records
• Establish, oversee, and report on insurance claims within the ancillary system
• Set up and maintain account details, investigate discrepancies, and process utility bills
• Draft communications and reports while organizing various records to provide administrative support within a designated work unit
• Address complex fiscal inquiries and provide information based on established materials and standards to diverse audiences
• Review internal controls for transaction processing and recommend policies and procedures
• Act as a liaison to leadership, offering financial advice, recommendations, and updates on financial status
• May provide training to staff on financial processes and best practices
• Oversee financial transactions and fund balances, generating and reconciling complex reports and statements in line with established rules and regulations
• Review and approve intricate transactions and allocate funding codes according to established rules, regulations, and policies
• Reallocate expenses to the appropriate funding strings
• At least two (2) years of experience in accounting, finance, or a related discipline
• Proven experience in building and maintaining working relationships with individuals at all levels within an organization
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, including active listening, written, and verbal communication abilities
• Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Capability to prepare financial reports and spreadsheets
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, database systems, financial accounting systems, and various database query tools
• Strong mathematical skills and meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in data entry and reconciliation of various accounting figures
• Strong organizational capabilities
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to prioritize and effectively manage multiple projects under competing deadlines
