This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.
• Conduct comprehensive analyses of Sub-Ledger and General Ledger transactions, balances, and associated documentation.
• Investigate discrepancies, unsupported balances, and non-compliant accounting practices.
• Examine both historical and current GL data to detect trends, systemic issues, and root causes.
• Formulate corrective action recommendations that align with accounting standards and policies.
• Outline implementation steps, timelines, roles, and anticipated outcomes for corrective measures.
• Assist in or carry out approved corrective actions, which may include transaction adjustments, process enhancements, and documentation updates.
• Monitor and report on progress toward the completion of corrective actions.
• Ensure that corrective actions effectively address identified audit issues.
• Clearly communicate intricate financial matters to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Collaborate closely with auditors, financial managers, and operational stakeholders to ensure the maintenance of accurate, compliant, and auditable financial records.
• A minimum of 5 years of pertinent experience in AF Funds Control, Accounting, Financial Analysis, Accounts Payable, Defense Finance and Accounting Service Treasury Reporting, General Funds, and Working Capital Funds.
• Strong comprehension of accounting principles, internal controls, and audit procedures.
• Proven ability to analyze intricate financial data and identify underlying causes.
• Detailed knowledge of AF Lines of Accounting and relevant financial data elements.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Accounting or Business Administration with a focus on Accounting.
• An active DoD Secret Security Clearance is required.
• U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.
• Sponsorship is not available.
• Preferred: experience in reconciling contract/obligation documents, miscellaneous collection and disbursement vouchers, D-to-O balancing, Open Document Listings, and dormant obligations.
• Preferred: familiarity with Microsoft Power BI, Microsoft Azure, or HighBond.
• Desired familiarity with Access Online (AXOL), Advana, CDS, CRIS, DCMS, DEAMS, DDS, DTIM, FMSuite, GAFS-BL, GAFS-R, IAPS, IPAC, MOCAS, PIEE, RTS, SBSS, and WAWF.
• Willingness to travel is essential.
• Base compensation range of $65,000–$90,000.
• Eligibility for bonuses when applicable.
