This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kentucky.
• Lead and oversee the processes for month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closures.
• Manage the general ledger ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial records.
• Review and authorize journal entries, account reconciliations, year-end reporting schedules, and supporting analyses.
• Promote continuous improvement initiatives for the closing process.
• Coordinate the financial statement audit at year-end and collaborate with external auditors.
• Manage closing schedules, deadlines, and the overall completion of closing activities.
• Supervise, mentor, and support the development of accounting personnel.
• Set performance expectations and offer coaching and feedback.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide accounting guidance.
• Develop, maintain, and enhance accounting policies, procedures, and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory standards, and accounting principles.
• Assist in the documentation and testing of internal controls.
• Identify and mitigate risks associated with financial reporting and accounting.
• Enhance the efficiency and scalability of accounting processes.
• Support finance transformation initiatives, system implementations, and process automation projects.
• Engage in special projects, acquisitions, integrations, and strategic business ventures.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification.
• A minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in accounting, financial reporting, or auditing.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, financial statement preparation, and technical accounting principles.
• Proven experience in managing or leading month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, index-match, lookups, form creation, and conditional formatting.
• Experience with ERP systems.
• Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
• Capability to effectively engage with senior leadership.
• Proficient in communicating with internal teams and clients.
