This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Responsible for the timely and precise completion of month-end close and the delivery of financial statements, including the income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement, along with supporting schedules.
• Ensure comprehensive bank-to-book reconciliations, reconciliation of accounts receivable/accounts payable, accruals, prepaid expenses, capital improvements/fixed assets, intercompany transactions, and maintain documented processes.
• Prepare management reports at both property and portfolio levels, including comparisons of budget versus actual figures, variance explanations, and key operating KPIs.
• Oversee daily cash visibility and maintain a 13-week rolling cash forecast; manage the cadence of payments, approvals, reserves, and liquidity planning.
• Lead the annual budgeting process and re-forecasting, encompassing revenue, payroll, utilities, repairs, insurance, taxes, and capital expenditures (CapEx).
• Monitor project budgets, expenditures, and return on investment (ROI) support for capital improvements and unit-level economics as necessary.
• Manage lender support and compliance, including covenant reporting, lender deliverables, and coordination with CPA/tax/audit teams.
• A minimum of 8+ years of experience in a CFO role (or as a senior financial leader) within the real estate sector; multifamily experience is preferred.
• Proficient in financial statements, close management, reconciliations, cash forecasting, and internal controls.
• Strong capability to produce decision-ready reports, including budget versus actual comparisons, variance analysis, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish, both written and spoken.
• Experience with property management software, preferably ResMan.
• Familiarity with corporate spend management software such as Brex or Ramp, with a preference for Brex.
• Experience with Section 8 programs, Housing Authorities, and municipal/city requirements (as applicable), including compliance reporting and audit support.
• Strong grasp of real estate legal entities and structures (LLCs/LPs/SPVs), intercompany accounting, and entity-level reporting.
• An advanced tech mindset, comfortable with implementing automation/AI and engaging with APIs/integrations (coding is not required, but familiarity with modern technology is essential).
