Financial Clearance Representative L1 – PreReg

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Reach out to patients or their representatives to obtain precise coverage details.

• Utilize integrated health information systems and telecommunication technologies to enhance customer interactions.

• Accurately locate patients within the EPIC database to minimize duplicate records.

• Evaluate patients’ financial capacity to pay for services and direct them to financial counseling staff when necessary.

• Submit eligibility inquiries to payors to confirm accurate and up-to-date coverage.

• Foster collaborative relationships with medical personnel, referring doctors, and their representatives.

• Deliver customer service while ensuring confidentiality in accordance with the Office of Compliance and HIPAA regulations.

• Notify management of any issues related to systems and workflow.

• Generate estimates, provide education on financial liabilities, and collect copayments and deposits as required.

• Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned.

• High school diploma or GED with over 1 year of experience in insurance, healthcare, or a related field.

• Outstanding customer service skills combined with enthusiasm and compassion.

• Capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.

• Strong interpersonal skills for managing sensitive and confidential matters.

• Proficiency in establishing effective working relationships with patients, physicians, team members, and others across the organization.

• Dependability, punctuality, professionalism, attention to detail, cooperativeness, and courteousness.

• Willingness to escalate issues when necessary.

• Familiarity with PC applications, including MS Office and Internet usage.
