Financial Clearance Associate, Business Support

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Tasked with acquiring and confirming essential demographic and insurance details, which encompass authorization/referrals/notifications for diagnostic, surgical, therapy, admissions/observations, and various other procedures/treatments.

• Responsible for arranging patients' appointments and procedures (initial, follow-up, and/or add-on) as necessary.

• This role necessitates the incumbent to operate in a call center environment and to achieve individual quality metrics (e.g., productivity, accuracy, customer service QA, etc.).

• Accountable for coordinating patient flow, ensuring timely processing, and maintaining knowledge of practices utilized within the department/physician practice/hospital to respond to patient inquiries or concerns.

• Keep informed on insurance requirements, Baptist Health South Florida (BHSF) pricing, financial assistance options, and the overall operations of the BHSF Revenue Cycle.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School diploma, Certificate, GED, Training, or Experience.

• Completion and successful passing of the Patient Access training course.

• Capability to thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced work environment.

• Proficiency in performing basic mathematical calculations.

• Detail-oriented, organized, a team player, compassionate, with excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.

• Preferred: Basic understanding of medical and insurance terminology.

• Experience with computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, familiarity with EMR applications, etc.) and proficient typing skills.

• Knowledge of regulatory guidelines including, but not limited to, HIPAA, AHCA, EMTALA, and Medicare coverage structure, encompassing medical necessity compliance guidelines.

• Bilingual in English and Spanish/Creole.
