Financial Clearance Associate 1

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Collect and confirm demographic and insurance details, including necessary authorizations, referrals, and notifications for diagnostics, surgeries, therapies, admissions/observations, and other treatments.

• Arrange initial, follow-up, and additional appointments/procedures for patients as needed.

• Operate in a call center setting while achieving personal quality targets related to productivity, accuracy, and customer service quality assurance.

• Manage patient flow to ensure efficient processing of services.

• Stay informed and apply knowledge of departmental, physician practice, and hospital operations to effectively address patient inquiries or issues.

• Understand and communicate insurance requirements, pricing from BHSF, financial assistance options, and operations within the BHSF Revenue Cycle.

• Deliver professional, empathetic, and friendly service to patients, families, staff, physicians, and members of the community.

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma, certificate, GED, or relevant training and experience.

• Complete and successfully finish the Patient Access training program.

• Capacity to thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced work environment.

• Proficiency in performing basic mathematical calculations.

• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.

• Team-oriented individual with excellent customer service and interpersonal communication abilities.

• Basic understanding of medical and insurance terminology is preferred.

• Experience with computer applications, including Microsoft Office and EMR systems.

• Accurate typing skills are essential.

• Familiarity with HIPAA, AHCA, EMTALA, and the Medicare coverage structure, including compliance guidelines for medical necessity.

• Bilingual in English and Spanish/Creole is advantageous.

• Minimum experience required: less than 1 year.
