Financial Analyst, R&D Finance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Conduct analysis of financial data related to R&D and generate consistent reports that showcase trends, variances, and potential opportunities for the Product & Technology division.

• Support the budget development process for R&D cost centers, oversee budget performance, and collaborate with engineering and product leaders to provide financial forecasts.

• Gather and manage financial data to refresh financial models and databases that underpin R&D expenditures and staffing levels.

• Monitor and report on the financial outcomes of R&D, emphasizing key performance indicators (KPIs) such as budget adherence, staffing costs, and capitalized R&D expenditures.

• Assess the financial viability of upcoming R&D initiatives and execute financial modeling to assist in resource distribution and investment prioritization.

• Deliver financial analyses and reports as required by R&D leadership, the FP&A Director, or other departments.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline.

• Two years of experience in financial analysis or a similar role; experience in supporting an R&D, engineering, or technology organization is an advantage.

• High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling techniques.

• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication abilities.

• Capability to collaborate effectively across finance and technical teams.
