Financial Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.

📋 Description

• Prepare and distribute regular management reporting packages, which include monthly financials, variance analyses, and KPI dashboards.

• Provide support for ad hoc financial and operational analyses that guide business decisions.

• Convert data into clear and concise narratives tailored for management audiences.

• Assist in the annual budgeting process and the quarterly reforecast cycles.

• Maintain and update financial models with actual data, forecast updates, and scenario assumptions.

• Collaborate with department heads to review P&Ls, monitor spending against the budget, and highlight variances.

• Work closely with the accounting team during the monthly and quarterly closing processes.

• Execute journal entries, accruals, and reporting tasks in Sage Intacct.

• Review, code, and authorize vendor bills and credit card transactions through Bill.com.

• Record and reconcile daily bank activities using Sage Intacct.

• Assist in monthly and quarterly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts.

• Provide support to the accounting team for ad hoc reporting requests.

• Ensure the integrity of financial data between source systems and reporting outputs.

• Utilize Sage Intacct, Salesforce, and Microsoft Excel on a daily basis.

• Leverage Claude (AI) to enhance analysis, drafting, and research efforts.

• Identify opportunities for improving reporting efficiency and data workflows.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.

• 2–4 years of relevant experience; internships are included.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, particularly with pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and financial modeling.

• Fundamental understanding of basic accounting principles, including debits/credits, accruals, and the distinction between P&L and balance sheet.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

• Structured thinker with an analytical mindset and a keen eye for detail.

• Experience with Sage Intacct or a similar ERP system is preferred.

• Familiarity with Salesforce or a comparable CRM is preferred.

• Experience with AI tools such as Claude or ChatGPT in a professional setting is preferred.
