Financial Aid Advisor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Utah.

📋 Description

• Assist students throughout the financial aid process, from completing the FAFSA to packaging awards.

• Evaluate and analyze financial aid applications to ascertain eligibility for federal, state, and institutional assistance.

• Allocate and modify aid packages in accordance with relevant regulations and policies.

• Provide guidance to students and families through appointments, workshops, phone communications, emails, and virtual platforms.

• Oversee verification files, address discrepancies, and submit necessary corrections.

• Assess special and unusual circumstances with sound judgment and empathy.

• Collaborate with various departments to enhance enrollment, retention, and student satisfaction.

• Deliver presentations at orientations, information sessions, and student forums.

• Assist with exit counseling for students who withdraw or graduate.

• Participate in team initiatives, continuous improvement projects, and university events.

⛳️ Requirements

• 2–3 years of experience directly engaging with students and families in Financial Aid.

• Familiarity with Title IV financial aid regulations.

• Bachelor’s degree preferred, though not mandatory.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Clear and compassionate written and verbal communication skills.

• Comfortable working with data, calculations, and compliance standards.

• Ability to exercise sound judgment in nuanced or sensitive circumstances.
