Financial Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Deliver technical accounting assistance throughout the Group, including the interpretation and application of FRS 102, along with knowledge of IFRS standards.

• Aid in the preparation and examination of statutory accounts for various UK entities.

• Conduct research and document accounting stances for intricate transactions.

• Provide support during the year-end and audit processes.

• Review balance sheets and critical judgments.

• Serve as the internal Subject Matter Expert (SME) on VAT, offering guidance on complex and non-standard transactions (e.g., intercompany recharges, international supplies, digital services).

• Oversee and assess VAT returns and reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and completeness across the Group.

• Propel enhancements in VAT processes, documentation, and controls, ensuring best practices are upheld across the Group.

• Assist in the preparation and review of corporation tax computations, collaborating closely with external advisors as necessary.

• Identify and advocate for tax planning opportunities in collaboration with advisors and senior finance stakeholders.

• Enhance and maintain documentation regarding accounting policies and tax positions.

• Support the implementation of new accounting standards.

• Identify opportunities for improvements in reporting processes and controls.

⛳️ Requirements

• Recently qualified or a finalist (ACA / ACCA), preferably with training in accountancy practice.

• Experience in preparing or auditing statutory accounts under FRS 102 and/or IFRS.

• Desirable exposure to group structures, consolidations, or environments with multiple entities.

• Working knowledge of VAT and corporation tax compliance.

• Experience collaborating with auditors and preparing supporting documentation.

• Familiarity with financial systems and strong Excel abilities is advantageous.
