Finance Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Missouri.

📋 Description

• Execute routine financial operations and transactions for the Corporation.

• Utilize foundational financial and accounting principles to accurately identify and input financial data.

• Assist with operational duties for H&R Block Financial Services products, including Emerald Prepaid MasterCard, Spruce, Refund Transfer, Emerald Advance Loan, Refund Advance, and Savings.

• Investigate and address inquiries from both internal departments and external clients that are escalated through the Client Service Organization.

• Leverage cross-functional tools and resources to enhance operating efficiencies, documentation, and planning.

• Handle financial data processing, incoming ACH deposits, exception reports, and account maintenance requests.

• Balance and reconcile daily general ledger financial transactions.

• Interpret client requirements and resolve issues utilizing training, standard operating procedures, and systems.

• Investigate customer requests and communicate directly with clients to provide resolutions as required.

• Validate the accuracy of financial system data and address discrepancies, exception items, and unmatched reconciliation items.

• Follow established procedures within service-level agreements.

• Collect, summarize, research, and analyze data to resolve discrepancies and client inquiries.

• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures.

• Offer operational support and compassionate customer service for escalated client concerns.

• Gather, research, and handle confidential and legal information.

• Engage in the development, enhancement, and implementation of existing and new financial processes.

• High School diploma or equivalent qualification.

• College degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent relevant professional experience.

• Basic proficiency in Excel.

• Capacity to work independently while safeguarding sensitive and confidential information.

• Aptitude for collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data into a useful format.

• Familiarity with banking processes and regulations.

• Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

• Ability to collaborate effectively in a diverse work environment.

• Keen attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects concurrently.

• Willingness to learn web-based systems and navigate multiple systems at the same time.

• Experience with SQL.

• Proficient in navigating the Internet.
