This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of and enhance Upstart Bank’s comprehensive financial model encompassing the income statement, balance sheet, cash flow, capital, liquidity, and regulatory forecasting.
• Create long-term forecasts, scenario analyses, and planning assumptions to support strategic planning and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Assess new products, funding strategies, and balance sheet initiatives through financial modeling and scenario analysis.
• Enhance model governance, automation, and the precision of forecasts.
• Provide support for Bank Board, ALCO, and executive-level reporting.
• Track financial and operational performance via regular reporting and variance analysis.
• Identify key business drivers, emerging risks, and opportunities, offering actionable insights to leadership.
• Develop dashboards and reports that reflect bank performance, balance sheet trends, capital, and liquidity.
• Collaborate with Treasury, Risk, Accounting, Product, Capital Markets, and Corporate FP&A.
• Facilitate strategic initiatives, regulatory requests, capital planning, balance sheet forecasting, and financial stress-testing activities.
• Analyze the financial implications of business growth, funding strategies, balance sheet choices, and shifting economic conditions.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• At least 7 years of pertinent experience in Financial Services, Corporate Finance, Treasury Finance, Capital Planning, Asset Liability Management, Strategic Finance, or FP&A.
• Experience in a banking environment, fintech, consumer lending, or other regulated financial institutions.
• A solid understanding of bank financial statements, balance sheet management, capital planning, and financial forecasting.
• Advanced skills in Excel or Google Sheets, including the creation of complex financial models.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex financial data to senior stakeholders.
• Capability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
• High attention to detail, ownership, and execution discipline.
• Preferred: experience in supporting ALCO, Board reporting, Treasury Finance, capital planning, or bank financial forecasting.
• Preferred: expertise in integrated bank financial modeling, stress testing, and capital adequacy evaluations.
• Preferred: knowledge of regulatory capital frameworks and metrics, including CET1, Tier 1 Capital, Total Capital, leverage ratio, risk-weighted assets, and CBLR.
• Preferred: understanding of asset liability management, interest rate risk, liquidity management, deposit modeling, and funding strategies.
• Preferred: experience in preparing materials for a bank Board, Board committee, ALCO, or other governance forums.
• Preferred: familiarity with Adaptive Planning, NetSuite, or similar systems.
• Preferred: proficiency with Looker, Tableau, or Mode.
• Preferred: knowledge of SQL or other advanced analytical tools.
• Preferred: previous experience in digital banking, consumer lending, marketplace lending, or a de novo banking environment.
