This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.
• Oversee the entire monthly closing process across various legal entities, including journal entries, accruals, intercompany transactions, eliminations, and consolidation.
• Manage multi-currency accounts payable, including invoice coding and allocation, approval workflows, and regulated wire and ACH disbursements.
• Review payments for duplicates, misclassified charges, personal expenses, and incorrect payments.
• Account for private-fund interests and direct investments, which encompass capital calls, distributions, management fees, fair-value assessments, and cost-basis tracking.
• Reconcile investment records with custodian, fund-administrator, and capital-account statements; monitor commitments and unfunded balances.
• Manage foreign-currency accounts and investments within a USD-reporting group, including period-end revaluation and the accounting of realized and unrealized FX gains and losses.
• Reconcile bank, brokerage, revenue-related, deferred-revenue, and accrued-revenue accounts; identify discrepancies and maintain audit-ready documentation.
• Prepare and deliver cash, liquidity, and investment reports to the Managing Director.
• Provide confidential support for the family's business and personal financial matters.
• Establish and uphold accounting policies, disbursement controls, and operational procedures.
• Assist with compliance requirements, acquisitions, and projects related to entity integration.
• Identify opportunities to automate repetitive finance and administrative tasks using templates, document automation, and workflow tools.
• Collaborate with external tax advisors, auditors, and fund administrators; provide schedules and support for annual tax and information reporting cycles.
• Offer dedicated assistance to the Managing Director of the Family Office.
• A minimum of 8 years of progressive full-cycle accounting experience, including direct ownership of the closing process in a multi-entity setting.
• Experience in family office, fund, or private-equity environments is strongly preferred.
• Comprehensive knowledge of investment and partnership accounting, including capital calls, distributions, management fees, fair value, and reconciliations with fund administrators and custodians.
• Familiarity with multi-currency accounting, including recording, revaluation, and distinguishing between realized and unrealized FX.
• Strong discipline in accounts payable at high volumes, with a controls-first and detail-oriented approach.
• CPA / CA designation is preferred.
• A background in public accounting or auditing is advantageous.
• Proficient with an ERP or comprehensive accounting system such as NetSuite, Sage Intacct, or QuickBooks Enterprise.
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivots, lookups, and reconciliation construction.
• Proven history of automating repetitive finance and administrative processes into consistent, low-touch operations.
• Comfort with automation or workflow tools such as document automation, Zapier, Make, or RPA, or basic scripting knowledge.
• Ability to exercise discretion, sound judgment, and maintain complete confidentiality while handling private financial matters.
